The sums of money people spend on the various weight loss plans are simply amazing. Total figures are hard to come by, but by looking at the buzz surrounding the whole weight loss plan idea, it quite clear that we are looking at a billion dollar industry. Closer home, the figures of what individuals spend on various weight loss plans are easier to come by than the industry totals – and these individual expenditures are more often and than not in the range of thousands of dollars.
A blanket condemnation of these paid for weight loss plans would surely be unfair because are really effective and offer good value for money – but what many people are unaware of is the fact that they can create their own completely effective and natural weight loss plan. Such a completely effective free natural weight loss plan would be based on three pillars, namely, modifying eating habits, adopting healthy diet and exercising more – and consistently followed, such a natural weight loss plan is guaranteed to lead to sustainable weight loss. In fact, most of the weight loss plans people spend thousands of dollars on work on these very same principles, which we examine at some depth.
Modifying eating habits more specifically means eating only when you are hungry and stopping to eat once you are full. And while the stories behind most cases of obesity vary from person to person, a common thread that runs through them all is that most of the people who turn out to be overweight have poor eating habits – like eating for emotional reasons, or not stopping eating once they are full. Now the correct position is that people should eat for physical reasons – to provide nutrients that the body needs – and that a person should stop eating once they are full, because continuing to eat even when they are full leads to overeating – and in man – actually most – people leads to weight problems. Thus it is important to eat only when you are (truly) hungry – and not necessarily during the pre-specified lunch, supper and break-fast times, and listening to your body carefully – and stopping to eat once your body is full.
Adopting a healthy diet will involve eating more natural foods like whole grains and nuts (rather than processed foods) – and also eating foods that are lower in fats – and also foods that are lower on salt and sugar, because both salt and sugar have been known to increase water retention in the body, which can lead to one being overweight, among other complications.
Exercising, on the other hand will involve adopting a more active lifestyle – rather than simply going for gym sessions which for many people feel like too much of a drag. A good way towards adopting a more active lifestyle would be by walking more – going to work by foot rather than driving there, taking the stairs to your office rather than taking the lift there – and so on and so forth – and there are people who swear that adopting a more active lifestyle led them to lose their excess weight and maintain a healthy body weight. You can, too.
