The truth of the matter is that natural weight loss is the only way to really lose weight and perhaps even more importantly, maintain a healthy body weight. There is both expert and layman collaboration for this fact because as it turns out, most health professionals are rather skeptical about the various ‘quick fix’ approaches – the patches, pills and all – to weight loss, and some of the conservative health practitioners are in fact downrightly hostile to some of these products. And with regard to layman collaboration- there are thousands – if not millions – of people who have tried these quick fix solutions without much success – or with some success but lots of side effects. So at the end of the day, there is agreement within an ever growing community of both experts and laymen that natural weight loss is the only way to really lose weight.

Actually, natural weight loss – as strictly practiced is a back to basics approach to weight loss, and employs the basic principles you learnt from your high school biology. And while there are a number of nuances to it, natural weight loss ultimately boils down to eating right, drinking plenty of water and exercising.

Eating right, as has almost become a cliché will involve avoiding eating junk food – as this clearly unhelpful to anyone seeking to lose weight loss. And while this would surely be expected to be common knowledge to nearly everybody, the numbers of people who go to great pains to lose weight, only to sabotage their efforts by going ahead to indulge in the wrong feeding habits is simply amazing. And talking of eating right, including lots of green vegetables and fresh fruits in your diet can go a long way in helping you to shed those extra kilos. Fresh vegetables contain a lot of fiber – and thus make you feel full quickly, such that you are able to satisfy your hunger without taking in too many calories. Fresh fruits on the other hand, provide you with a way to satisfy your sweet tooth, without for instance having to indulge in things like cakes and sweets (which are what most people indulge in to satisfy their craving for sweetness) and which only end up increasing their weight.

Increasing your intake of water is yet another important pillar of natural weight loss – and you should ensure that you at least fill that daily quota of at least eight glasses of water per day you read about somewhere.

And exercising is the ultimate key to natural weight loss and general well-being because, in all honesty, our bodies were not created for the sedentary lifestyles we have resorted to in the name of modernity. Exercising, however, does not have to be a drag. Going for a walk, walking the dog, taking the stairs at the office (rather than the lift) all qualifies as exercise, and consistently done (they keys is consistency, incorporating it into your lifestyle) can lead to good weight loss.
