The booming sales in the ‘weight loss supplements’ market is clear evidence of the number of people who have all but given up on natural weight loss. This is a growing group of people who believe that successful natural weight loss is impossible – and that one must seek aids – in the form of slimming pills, weight loss supplements and such other products if one is to shed those extra pounds successful. But experts on this subject to beg to differ – and argue that, in fact, weight loss has to be natural if it is to be successful. These experts point out that these weight loss supplements and pills are either ineffective in long term weight loss – or where they happen to be effective, come with lots of obnoxious side effects – some perhaps even worse than the excessive weight one is trying to shed.
All this leads us to the question on what is the key to successful natural weight loss – and how come so few people seem to find it?
The first key to successful weight loss could lie in proper perspective – and the reason many people never find it is that they are obsessed with the quick fix mentality in their approach to weight loss. Yet the best way to look at weight loss is by looking at it as a long term project, and giving up the search for that quick fix that will give you the body you desire – because in all honesty, there is no such quick fix to body weight problems.
Being realistic in one’s approach to the whole subject of weight loss could be the second key to successful weight loss – and one of the reasons people never find this key is because they tend to approach weight loss with very unrealistic expectations – and go ahead to use rather unrealistic methods towards the achievement of their unrealistic goals – a good example of these unrealistic efforts towards weight loss being those crazy diets some people go on. Now the use of dieting could be considered as falling with the category of natural weight loss methods – but this changes if the diet being used is simply unnatural – like those diets where the food portions leave you starving.
Talking of starving brings us to the next to successful natural weight loss, which is that successful natural weight loss has to be fun. And the reason many people simply never find this key is that they have been conditioned to believe that weight loss should be a painful process. Yet the truth of the matter is that a weight loss program that is too painful is not likely to be held onto for long enough to yield the desired results. To make weight loss fun, one could consider a plan that for instance allows small snacks at pre-planned times (rather than a military regime which will only leave one with a craving and lead to binge eating). Another way to make weight loss efforts fun would be by incorporating exercise into one’s daily activities, and using exercises that are not too straining to the body.
Ultimately, approached in the right way, successful natural weight loss is indeed a possibility and can lead to very impressive results.
